1

Click the meeting link a few minutes early

We recommend joining 5 minutes before start so the host can let you in and say hello.

2

Turn on your camera (if you want)

Camera on is encouraged so members can connect with you, but it's not required. Make sure you're somewhere reasonably quiet.

3

You'll be introduced to the group

The Toastmaster of the Day will welcome you at the start. No need to prepare anything — just a quick wave and your first name is perfect.

4

Watch the meeting unfold

You'll see 2-3 prepared speeches, impromptu speaking (Table Topics), and supportive evaluations. It's structured but fun.

5

You might be invited to speak — but you can pass

During Table Topics, you may be invited to try a 1-2 minute impromptu answer. It's completely optional — "no thanks" in the chat is perfectly fine.

6

Stick around or drop off — no pressure

After the meeting, many members stay on the call to chat. But there's no obligation. Most people visit 2-3 times before deciding.

Quick Tech Check

Audio: Use headphones if you can — it cuts echo and makes everything clearer.

Video: Camera on is encouraged but not required. Good lighting makes a big difference.

Connection: A stable internet connection matters more than speed. If your video lags, turning off camera is fine.
